Meghan Nelson, Executive Producer and Partner, Superbright: Meghan is an executive producer and strategist with unique experience in the AR and VR industries. Having worked amongst the world's leading Computer Vision researchers and engineers, her expertise lies in executing creative and immersive 3D content in real-world environments. She has expansive knowledge of the industry, including AR MMO’s, AR mobile gaming, ROI of branded AR applications, company re-structuring for future interfaces, AR/VR budgeting, and AR/VR Hardware specifications. She has helped many Fortune 500 brands build trailblazing AR & VR applications including National Geographic, AOL, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pandora Jewelry, UTC Carrier, Clairol, and Bobbi Brown.

Thalia Mavros, CEO, The Front: Founded in 2015 by veteran VICE Executive Creative Director, Thalia Mavros, The Front is an incubator for a new generation of innovative filmmakers. Collectively our team’s work ranges long-form documentaries for Frontline to legacy documentary series for MTV, AMC and National Geographic, to webseries for VICE, The Guardian, A&E’s HistoryNOW and social segments for NowTHIS News. Some of our most notable projects include: Frontline’s Dupont Columbia and RFK Journalism award-winning Failure to Protect and The Guardian’s Emmy-award winning Beyond The Borders. The Front is a new voice on the cutting-edge of cultural media and entertainment. Female-founded and run, we’re passionate about powerful and provocative storytelling that challenges, entertains and redefines what it means to tell stories from the feminine perspective. Our team of directors, writers, producers, animators and editors come with diverse experience in film, television and digital platforms.

 

Will Russell, Head of Production, Firstborn: Will oversees all live action production at Firstborn, an award-winning strategic design and technology company based in NYC. Since joining the Firstborn Studio at its inception, Will has led teams in the production of broadcast commercials, branded content, and VR experiences for clients such as Pepsi, Google, JetBlue, Chevron and American Express. In his role, Will leads a group of directors, designers, producers, editors, motion graphic artists and CG artists that are dedicated to creating content of all shapes and sizes. He also collaborates with the creative and technology departments to create groundbreaking experiences in the online and physical space. Will is a Windy City native who double majored in History and Strategic Communications at the University of Kansas. He cut his teeth at Ketchum and Hill + Knowlton, where he worked with clients like adidas, Qualcomm and HP, before heading to Firstborn in 2008. A man of simple (yet refined) pleasures, Will enjoys sandwiches, music and hanging with his dog, Reggie.

 

Debra Anderson is based in New York and is Chief Strategy Officer and Co-founder of Datavized Technologies, Inc. a NYC-based WebVR startup building a data-driven publishing platform for the 3D Web. She is a Producer/Director specialized in digital storytelling and media impact for immersive experiences for WebVR, Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR).  Her pioneering VR film In\Formation, is a two-part 25 minute 360° 3D live action immersive documentary about the potential of VR to inspire empathy in its audience.  Debra founded the innovation consultancy Culture Shock in 2007; presented groundbreaking interactive works with NFB at Sundance New Frontier, Tribeca Storyscapes and curated arts/tech projects at Volta Art Fair NY & Switzerland. Debra designed and instructs the first Big Data: Consumer Research course at The New School for Public Engagement and developed the first Digital Development: WebVR curriculum in Immersive Storytelling at Parsons, The School of Art, Media and Technology (AMT). She is the Founder and Co-organizer of NY Women in VR Meetup group which now has over 600 members.

 

Joel Douek, Co-founder, ECCO VR: Co-founder of VR/AR sound & music company ECCO VR, Joel Douek is an award winning composer and sound designer whose work has brought many top Virtual Reality experiences to life, as well as numerous BAFTA and EMMY-winning productions.  Born in London, England, Douek draws heavily on his background in music and neuroscience to guide & innovate the use of sound to bring meaning, realism and emotion to the world of VR.  His VR work has featured in experiences for major Hollywood studios, Lionsgate, NBC, JauntVR, Littlstar, Hulu, VR Playhouse, Lytro, Specular Theory, SilVR Thread, Studio Transcendent, Applied VR, YouTube360, Facebook 360 and many others.  Joel has scored over 80 documentaries including the last nine by British naturalist Sir David Attenborough, along with hundreds of TV episodes, blockbuster Animés, feature films, commercials and sonic brands such as IMAX and HULU Originals.

 

Jesse Kirshbaum, CEO, NUE: For more than a decade, Jesse Kirshbaum has been at the forefront of the music business, specializing in securing talent for concerts, tours, and endorsement deals for his clients and brand partners internationally. Jesse founded Nue Agency — a creative music agency that was recently named to the Inc. 500 as the third fastest-growing media company in America — to sit at the center of music, brands, and technology. Jesse is also the co-founder and visionary behind SoundCTRL, the authority in music technology culture, news, and events. It features op-eds, first-look interviews, behind-the-scenes looks at startups, and much more. SoundCTRL’s newsletter goes to more than 10,000 music tech influencers and enthusiasts weekly and is syndicated on the television network Fuse. Jesse is the executive producer for the hit digital series CRWN and the annual FlashFWD Awards, which honors premier stars in music technology. He sits on the advisory boards of Magnises and Bombas, as well as Social Media Week and Digital Media Wire, where he shares a dynamic enthusiasm and passion for shaping the new music business.
