She's also won two national magazine awards for her stories, along with top honors from the Deadline Club, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, and the Overseas Press Club. Her book "Fraternity" was named one of Amazon’s best books of 2012 and nominated for the NAACP Image Award.

 

Jeff Nicholas, Director of VR Creative & Production, Live Nation Studios: Jeff Nicholas is an award winning Creative Producer and Director with a passion for creating compelling and engaging VR content. Since the new cycle of high-end VR and 360° content creation emerged in 2014, Jeff’s focus has been primarily on creating these experiences and pushing the boundaries of cinematic VR/360° production through original and branded content experiences. In addition to directing and executive producing the ON STAGE series for Hulu and Live Nation, Jeff is overseeing the development and execution of all of Live Nation’s live and episodic VR content initiatives. Prior to his work with Live Nation, he has been at the helm of a variety of VR experiences with partners and collaborators such as CBS, WEVR, Oculus, Ford, Mike Shinoda, Budweiser, Kenan Thompson, Hoonigan Racing, RAIN Agency, A World At School, and many others. Outside of VR content creation, Jeff is most well-known for his work producing, directing and collaborating on a wide array of creative experiences - from music videos, commercials and original content to design, digital and experiential campaigns - for top-level agencies, brands, studios, promoters, labels and artists such as Rihanna, Dreamworks, Justin Timberlake, Bud Light Platinum, Shakira, Apple Music, Jason Mraz, Beats By Dr Dre, Linkin Park, AKQA, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Sony, Foo Fighters, Nixon Watches, Beastie Boys, and many more.

 

Steven Haft was most recently the SVP Innovation at Time Inc., largest publisher in the U.S. and U.K, owner of such iconic brands as TIME, PEOPLE, Sports Illustrated and Fortune Magazines. Prior to joining Time, Haft built Indyworks, a media consultancy, where over the past decade he established himself as a thought leader on the impact of emerging technology on media for over 20 clients including Comcast Cable, Edelman Worldwide and Burson-Marstellar. In 2000, Steven Haft launched his digital career at AOL, rising to the role of Chief Strategy Officer of AOL’s $1.2 billion Interactive Marketing Group. Haft returned to AOL in 2012-13 as Senior Strategic Advisor. For two decades prior, Haft produced films and television which garnered 8 Academy Award nominations; BAFTAs and, for television, 8 Emmy nominations and the Peabody Award. Notable works include DEAD POETS SOCIETY, EMMA, PIRATES OF SILICON VALLEY, HOCUS POCUS and MADtv. Steven Haft is an elected Member of the Motion Picture Academy and Trustee (Emeritus) of Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute and the PGA (East). Mayors Bloomberg & DeBlasio appointed Haft to the Board of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Corporation, home to Steiner Studios. Steven Haft is a member of The Bar of the U. S. Supreme Court.

 

Ryan Wang is Co-founder and General Partner of Outpost Capital, the first Silicon Valley-based venture capital fund focusing on VR/AR and new frontier technology with a strong presence in China. Ryan is known as a VR/AR expert who oversees companies in the US and greater China, with solid insights and strong connections in both markets. Prior to Outpost, Ryan was a Venture Partner at CLI Ventures. Early in his career, Ryan has compiled a comprehensive and successful career as an investment banker at Citigroup and Societe Generale in New York City. Ryan is a snowboarder, world explorer and owner of many stylish hats.

 

Layne Braunstein, ‎Executive Creative Director & Founder, Fake Love: Layne is an award-winning designer known for his focus on experimental motion design and post-digital storytelling. As co-founder and Head of Creative at Fake Love, Layne leads the conceptual creative practice. He helps to set the vision and tone for clients, defining a platform and overseeing all the cross-media execution. At Fake Love, Layne has curated a world class team of creatives that include designers, technologists, fine artists and collaborators. He is focused on maintaining a practice that can inspire new thinking and bring future forward concepting to each brand challenge. This is at the heart of how Fake Love continues to innovate. Layne has led groundbreaking global campaigns for brands such as Google, Levis, Microsoft, Virgin, Amex, M·A·C, Air Force, Marc Jacobs, Bacardi, Lexus, Coke, MTV, Samsung, Heineken, Universal, Acura, VICE, The New York Times, and Nike. Prior to Fake Love, Layne was a freelance CD for design houses, agencies, networks and AAA game companies throughout NYC and ATL. For much of his career Layne led GUI & Prototype design for global brands like GE, Cox, Yahoo, & AT&T. Layne’s company Fake Love is the recent recipient of 7 Cannes Lions, including a Cannes Lion Grand Prix; as well as a Golden Pencil One Show award. He has also received three Promax|BDA awards, a Boston Ad Club’s Rosoff award, been nominated for Best of Show SXSW Interactive, holds an AIGA SEED Award, and has numerous Cannes Lions Shortlists. He is frequently featured in zines like Wired, IDN, NYT, Comm. Arts, WSJ, Creators Project, Fast Co., Creativity, PSFK and Adweek. Layne has spoken about the future of experiential design at places like the Cannes Lions International Festival  of Creativity, Hyper Island, Future of Storytelling, CreateTech at M.I.T., SHOOT Directors Forum, Event Marketing Summit, NYU, Re:Design, Columbia and the award winning Design Matters.

 

KENNETH HERTZ, is a Senior Partner in the Beverly Hills law firm of Hertz Lichtenstein & Young LLP. Ken and his partners specialize in representing talent and new media companies in the sports and entertainment industries.
