Joergen Geerds, CEO and Creative Director, Koncept VR: Joergen Geerds began as an award-winning creative in the 1990s, working at advertising agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi, & Wunderman. Later, he turned his passion for photography into a career as a fine art panoramic photographer and took leadership roles in groups like the IVRPA and the 360° VR Professionals Facebook group (6,300+ members). In 2011, he invented the first fully

spherical 360° VR camera system, enabling VR filmmakers to create a viable commercial industry. Combining a highly creative approach with superior technical acumen, he creates breathtaking cinematic 360° VR films. His creative process identifies VR-specific narrative needs - simultaneously discovering unique vantage points and designing custom solutions for each project. Self-described as a “maker of stuff,” Mr. Geerds prefers to get his hands dirty, iterating solutions until they meet rigorous, professional standards.


Matthew Seymour, Executive Producer / Business Development Director - VR & AR at Psyop: Matthew Seymour is a gaming, Virtual Reality and interactive media industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience encompassing product management and development, new business strategies, studio operations and design. He is currently an executive producer and the business development director of Psyop, an award-winning creative studio, where Matthew oversees operation of the company's VR/AR team and is tasked with expanding its production of original and brand-related VR/AR content and experiences. Prior to Psyop, Mr. Seymour was the Vice President of Product Development at Heavy Iron Studios, a leader in developing mass-market titles for video game consoles. At Heavy Iron Studios, Mr. Seymour was responsible for securing and producing a number of VR projects, including the base technology for “The Martian Experience,” original VR games such as “Fat City,” and more. Mr. Seymour has also served as the Studio Head of Vatra, a Kuju Entertainment studio, and as Executive Producer of 2K Games, a videogame publisher managing some of the most creative, respected and premium brands in games today. In the early 2000's, while at Microsoft Game Studios, Mr. Seymour co-created and produced the top selling and most revered tennis game franchise, Top Spin.


Chad Woods, Immersive Reality Designer, Team One: Chad Woods pushes the worlds of virtual reality, mixed reality, and augmented reality forward at Team One as the resident VR expert. He designs and develops these cutting-edge experiences, taking elements from game, human-centric, and experiential design as he merges art and technology for clients including Lexus and The Ritz-Carlton. Woods is a 2014 graduate of the VCU Brandcenter’s User Experience track. He went on to found the Creative Technology lab at Publicis Seattle where he worked on creative tech for brands like American Girl, T-Mobile, and Scalage while still finding time to help write Super Bowl commercials. While at Team One, Woods founded the VR Lab. This hotbed of futuristic experience educates both client and coworkers while creating enthralling experiences with the custom, hand-built super computer that powers the lab. His most recent creation, a room-scale configurator experience for Lexus, was unveiled recently at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.


David Birnbaum, Design Director at Immersion Corporation, leads a team responsible for developing the tactile aesthetics of emerging technologies. Most recently he’s been focused on bringing the sense of touch to mobile video and ads. Driven by a desire to tell stories with the sense of touch and to bring emotion and realism to digital experiences, David has been creating haptic experiences for over 10 years, in which time he’s been named as an inventor on over 70 patents in the fields of user experience, wearables, gaming, medical devices, mobile communication, and rich interactive media. He holds a B.S. in Music Industry from USC and a M.A. in Music Technology from McGill University.


MATT SILVERMAN — HEAD OF INTEGRATED PRODUCTION, IGNITION: Matt’s job is to live in a world that’s ahead of the tech curve. He challenges traditional models and helps to cultivate the future of agency/studio integration, and he thrives on innovating new ways to forge the evolution of the brand-to-audience experience through VFX, Motion Design, Experiential and Animation. Now an award winning veteran, Matt kick started his entertainment career in music and live-event production, before studying law at the University of Central Florida. Working as a VFX coordinator by day and a sound engineer by night, he’s since merged his knowledge of legal principles, business methodologies and technical skills to make art in entertainment advertising. His forward-thinking strategies enable him to unite with brands that want to push boundaries, resulting in successful campaigns and benchmark industry work for clients, including, Netflix: Daredevil, The Hunger Games, ESPN: Monday Night Football, The Weinstein Company: Hateful 8 and HBO: John Oliver, and Netflix: The Defenders. A charismatic speaker and enterprising strategist, Matt is anything but traditional and all things creative.


Cosmo Scharf is the co-founder of VRLA, the world’s largest VR & AR expo, and the co-founder of Mindshow, an app that lets you create and share animated movies in VR. Cosmo aims to make the world more positive and creative through immersive technology. His experience and expertise make him one LA’s top thought leaders on how virtual reality will shape and change media and entertainment — and its larger societal and philosophical implications on how humans communicate. He has spoken about VR’s potential in many venues including a TED Talk.


Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic: industry luminary and former, Vice President, Digital Development & Distribution, EMI Music: As Vice President of Digital Development & Distribution for EMI Music, Ted Cohen oversaw worldwide digital business development for this "big five" record company, which includes labels such as Capitol, Virgin, Angel/Blue Note, Parlophone and Chrysalis. Under Cohen's guidance, EMI has led the industry with its initiatives in new technologies and business models such as digital downloads, online music subscriptions, custom compilations, wireless services, high-definition audio and Internet radio. In addition to seeking out, evaluating and executing business opportunities for the company, Cohen serves as both a strategist and key decision-maker for EMI's global new media and anti-piracy efforts. He has worked to establish company-wide policies, which have allowed EMI's artists and labels a substantial advantage in the digital music arena. Cohen served previously as the Executive Vice President of Digital Music Network Inc., where he co-founded and served as Chairman of the Webnoize '98 & '99 conferences. He currently chairs MidemNet, an international music/technology conference convened in Cannes each year. Cohen also held senior management positions at both Warner Bros. Records and Philips Media. Additionally, Cohen lead two highly successful new media consulting operations, DMN Consulting and Consulting Adults, attracting clients such as, Microsoft, Universal Studios New Media, DreamWorks Records, Liquid Audio, Wherehouse Records/ and several other entertainment, computer and new media organizations. A 25-year industry veteran, Cohen serves on the NARAS (Grammy) Los Angeles chapter Board of Governors, the Board of Directors for the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund, Co-chairs the new media arm of the T.J. Martell Foundation, and lends his time and talents to the Grammy In The Schools Program.
